Swim Cow Customer Welcome
Welcome to the Swim Cow community of swim instructors and swim lesson families who are prioritizing water safety to prevent drowning. For your convenience, we have assembled some information for quick reference.
What You Can Expect
Direct contact with your instructor via the method you prefer (phone/text/email).
- Professional and prepared swim instructor who will arrive promptly, dressed in a swimsuit and ready to get into the water.
- Effective lessons taught with your goals in mind.
- Start and end time of the lessons to be as agreed. Every effort will be made by the instructor to arrive 5 minutes early, start on time, and end at the scheduled time.
- Cancellations are discouraged and can be rescheduled with your instructor. Consistency in swim lessons is highly recommended for best results.
How You Can Prepare
Give specific arrival instructions that include where to enter the property and the pool, where to park, where to put belongings, if there are pets to expect, pool depth and any other specific information that the instructor needs to set up the environment for safety and success.
- Have the student/s ready. Students who are well fed, well rested and in their swimsuits ready to enter the pool at the designated start time have the best experience. Apply sunscreen in advance of the class time giving it a little time to absorb into the skin.
- Keep safety top of mind. Make sure you have a phone handy to call 911 in case of an emergency and a towel poolside for exit. Do not leave the pool deck or allow distractions to prevent you from staying engaged with the lesson.
- Make swim lesson time fun and stress free. Have goggles if they are preferred and favorite pool toys on the pool deck. For beginning swimmers, talk about the swim instructor coming to swim with them. It is also helpful for them to see the picture of the instructor provided on their profile on swimcow.com. Be encouraging and give positive feedback to the student for even the smallest successes.
What is Required
A parent or legal guardian must be present with direct supervision at all times and eyes on the pool for safety. Parents are required to be in the water with all children age 2 and under.
- A pool temperature that is conducive to learning is ideal. Cold pool water can be a distraction and may slow down progress.
- “Steer” Clear of soliciting the services of Swim Cow instructors outside of the Swim Cow platform. The Swim Cow Terms of Use agreement prohibits this activity.
Attendance
Confirm your lesson has been taught. When you paid for the Lesson Ticket Package, an email was sent to you with individual redemption links for each lesson. Pull up the email and click on one of the lesson tickets to redeem it after each lesson. If you cannot find the email, notify jmiller@swimcow.com and she will resend it.
- Call or text your instructor directly for last minute cancellations. See complete Terms of Use for Swim Cow’s cancellation policy.
